October 20 and data that not everyone knows
Both are days to honor women and demonstrate gender equality, but March 8 and October 20 have differences!
March 8 is International Women’s Day, a day celebrated all over the world, including Vietnam. The origin of International Women’s Day comes from the United States, when a movement of female workers protested for increased wages and reduced hours in New York in 1908.
Because of that event, March 8 is a day to praise the spirit and fighting will of women around the world and is also a day for society to care for and compensate women – who have suffered many hardships and disadvantages in life.
October 20 is Vietnamese Women’s Day, which only takes place within Vietnam, marking the establishment of the Vietnam Women’s Union on October 20, 1930. This is an opportunity to honor Vietnamese women, who both sacrificed to take care of their children and became a solid rearguard for the front line for the cause of national liberation.
In addition, before 1975, in the South of our country, Vietnamese Women’s Day was also a memorial day for Hai Ba Trung, held on the 6th day of the second lunar month.
Delicious dishes for October 20 have more meaning
- Heart cookies
Prepare
– 120gr animal butter
– 200gr finely sifted flour
– 60g finely sifted powdered sugar
– 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
– 1 egg yolk
– Icing sugar for writing letters: 20gr sugar syrup, 8ml filtered water, 100gr finely sifted powdered sugar, food coloring if you like colored letters.
How to do it
Step 1: Boil a little water in a pot, then put the bowl of butter in the pot (water bath) and stir until the butter melts, then take the bowl of butter out and let it cool.
Step 2: Add flour, powdered sugar, and baking soda into the bowl and mix well. Then add the butter and mix briefly, then add the egg yolks and mix well until the dough is smooth, let the dough rest for 15 minutes.
Step 3: Spread a piece of plastic wrap on the table, place a piece of dough on it, flatten it, then take a piece of plastic wrap and place it on top, using a rolling pin to roll it out evenly.
Step 4: Remove the top piece of plastic wrap, use the heart mold or flower mold to gently press, then remove each cake one by one and put it in the baking tray.
Step 5: Put the cake in a preheated oven for 15 minutes at 170 degrees Celsius, bake until it has a beautiful golden color, then take it out to cool.
Step 6: Make decorative icing sugar: put powdered sugar, sugar syrup, and filtered water in a bowl, stir well, then divide into parts to mix colors. Put sugar in a plastic bag, cut a small hole and write the word you like on the cookie and you’re done.
- Rose cupcakes
Prepare:
– 120gr butter at room temperature
– 100gr finely sifted wheat flour
– 20gr finely sifted cornstarch
– 50g unsweetened fresh milk
– 2 chicken eggs, 65gr/egg
– 1 teaspoon vanilla, 5 grams baking powder
– 60g sugar
– 200ml Whip Topping cream or optional butter cream.
How to do it:
– Turn on the oven to 170 degrees Celsius to preheat the oven, prepare paper cups for the cake on the baking tray.
Step 1: Put butter and sugar in a clean bowl and use an electric mixer to beat until the butter turns pale white and the sugar dissolves. Then add 1 egg and turn on the beater until the egg blends into the butter, then add 1 more egg and beat well to get a smooth mixture.
Step 2: Mix flour, cornstarch, baking powder, then add 1/2 of the flour to the egg bowl and use a spatula to mix well before adding the remaining flour. Mix until you can no longer see the powder, then add fresh milk and vanilla and mix thoroughly.
Step 3: Scoop 1 tablespoon of dough and divide it evenly into paper cupcake cups so that 2/3 of the cup is just right. Bake the cake at 160 degrees Celsius for about 30 minutes or until the cake surface is golden.
Step 4: Test the cake by inserting a toothpick into the middle of the cake and when it comes out it comes out dry, take the cake out and let it cool.
Step 5: Put the cream in a bowl and use an electric mixer to beat it until it becomes fluffy and then put it in a rose-shaped piping bag.
- Rose soup
Ingredient:
– 1/2 liter of fresh milk
– 200g scallops
– 2 red or pink roses
– 50g flour
– 1 teaspoon butter.
Perform:
Wash scallops and cut into cubes. Separate the rose petals, wash them, and soak them in diluted salt water. Boil water, add rose petals, turn off the heat, lift down, and filter the water. Put the pan on the stove, wait for the pan to be hot, add 1/2 teaspoon of butter into the pan, add the scallops and stir quickly.
Put 1/2 teaspoon of butter in the pan, melt, then add dry flour and stir. Add fresh milk, rose water and the flour you just stir-fried above to create a consistency for the soup.
Enjoy:
Put the soup into a deep plate and decorate with rose petals. This dish is served immediately as an appetizer, or can be served with sandwiches. You can put the soup in the refrigerator before using, the soup is also very delicious.
- Flower-shaped omelets
Prepare:
4 chicken eggs
3 colorful bell peppers
Soft sandwiches
Coriander
Spices: seasoning powder, salt and cooking oil
Making:
Step 1: Wash and cut bell peppers into rings about 2cm thick.
Step 2: Heat the pan with a little oil, then add the bell pepper and turn it over to cook evenly.
Step 3: For each chili ring, crack an egg carefully in the middle so that the yolk remains intact and lies in the center to form the pistil. If you want the egg to cook evenly and not burn, you should keep the heat low.
Step 4: When the eggs are cooked, put them on a plate, decorate with cilantro and sprinkle a little salt and pepper on top.
