In 2018, among the small streets of Hanoi’s Old Quarter,Hanoian KitchenBorn from a lovely house with hostel rooms, a small coffee corner and a simple kitchen. Initially, the kitchen only served lunches to guests near and far – guests who found familiarity, warmth and peace in the heart of the old town.

At that time, people called that place Hanoian Kitchen – not only because of the name, but because the spirit of “Hanoi’s kitchen” was clearly shown in each dish. Fragrant sticky rice, pieces of tofu soaked in onions, a bowl of refreshing sour soup or a rich piece of meat braised with pepper all bring the very real flavors of old Hanoi meals.

That kitchen not only serves food but also spreads emotions. Among tourists from all over, Hanoian Kitchen tells the story of Hanoi people through every scent and every meticulously prepared pure Vietnamese rice dish.

When the kitchen temporarily closes and the journey is written again

In 2020, the epidemic struck, the hostel had to close, and the small kitchen also quietly stopped burning. But the founders of Hanoian Kitchen don’t see that as the end. In their hearts, the love for cooking, for Hanoi cuisine and the desire to share Vietnamese cultural values ​​still burns.

Two years later, in 2022, Hanoian returns in a new look with the name Hanoian Kitchen, located in Linh Lang. There was no more hostel space, no more crowded tourists, but the Hanoian kitchen was more cozy than ever.

There, people still find familiar meals: a bowl of light and sour soup, a plate of fragrant braised fish, a piece of tofu soaked in golden onions, and the sweetness of kindness in each dish. Hanoian not only cooks rice but also puts sincerity into each meal – something that makes diners remember the flavor of this place even if they go far away.

By 2025, Hanoian will officially return with the name Hanoian Kitchen – the starting name for a culinary journey imbued with the soul of the old town. This time, the kitchen is located in an old dormitory on Hoang Ngoc Phach street, with a modest area but containing passion and persistent spirit.

Even though it has gone through many ups and downs, Hanoian still maintains the core from day one: cooking the most authentic Hanoi dishes – the way Hanoians still cook for their loved ones.
