On the evening of October 10, the opening ceremony of the first World Cultural Festival in Hanoi took place at the central stage of Thang Long Imperial Citadel. The event was organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Hanoi People’s Committee. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended the Opening Ceremony. Also attending the Opening Ceremony were Ms. Ngo Phuong Ly – Wife of General Secretary To Lam; Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung; Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Hai Binh along with leaders of central departments, ministries, branches, international guests and a large number of people in Hanoi capital. |

During the ceremony, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said: “Culture has no borders, therefore, today’s event is also the connection of the Vietnamese people with the peoples of the world. The event brings joy and cultural enjoyment of the peoples of the world with Vietnam and of Vietnam with the peoples of the world. We are also struggling with storms and floods. This festival clearly demonstrates that spirit. The opening ceremony had the participation of many Vietnamese artists such as Tung Duong, Hoa Minzy, Oplus group… The performances were uniquely staged, full of emotions, harmoniously and attractively connecting traditional and modern culture. |

The event brings together 48 participating countries with 45 national cultural spaces, 34 international culinary booths, 23 domestic and foreign art troupes, 12 units introducing books and publications, and 22 countries participating in the international film screening program. |

Music group Oplus and singer Ngoc Anh show off their powerful voices through musical performances honoring love for their homeland. The festival takes place for 3 days October 10 – October 12.
