Mid -Autumn Festival 2025: Old soul in the heart of Hanoi

Mid -Autumn Festival 2025: Old soul in the heart of Hanoi

For a long time, the Mid -Autumn Festival has become one of the important festivals of Vietnamese people, associated with childhood memories and the value of union members. Not only is the chance of playing for children, this is also the time when the community is looking forward to traditional cultural values.

Hanoi Old Town is one of the annual rendezvous, attracting a large number of people, domestic and international tourists every Mid -Autumn Festival. This year, one of the outstanding activities is the Northern Ancient Lion Easter Project by researcher Kevin Vuong. The image of the lion’s head used to be a toy associated with the memories of many generations of Vietnamese children, now recreated, evoking the old beauty in contemporary life. The next highlight is the seminar “Our moon – Recreating traditional lion heads and applying heritage in contemporary life” taking place on September 27 at Kim Ngan communal house (Hang Bac). Here, researchers, artisans and designers will discuss the journey to preserve and create from the heritage, and ask the question: How to keep the heritage both soul and new breath, suitable for today’s life. At the same time, this is also an opportunity to honor the merits of artisans and craftsmen – those who silently keep their jobs, so that the heritage is constantly shining in today’s life.

The organizers have built a 3D scene with the theme “Fairy moon season” at Phung Hung street mural space, decorated with flower lights and many fun activities. Children who come here not only participate in folk games but also have the opportunity to experience STEM games – a harmonious combination between tradition and modernity, helping them to play and learn.

In particular, the evening of October 3 will take place the procession of the “full moon festival” around the old town and Hoan Kiem Lake. This is an activity to recreate the old Mid -Autumn atmosphere, where shimmering lights illuminate the streets, reminiscent of the image of the busy procession of childhood. For the people, it is the pride of heritage; For tourists, it is an opportunity to experience a friendly, creative and rich identity.

Besides, the children’s fashion show is also a highlight. In the ancient architectural space, the children will put on the colorful costumes of the Mid -Autumn Festival, blending the folk motifs and modern design style. This combination creates a vivid picture of the intersection of tradition and creativity.

Activities like the Mid -Autumn Festival of the old town not only bring joy to children, but also contribute to the formation of a generation of citizens who have a cultural knowledge, appreciate traditional values and be creative enough on that platform. The Organizing Committee wants to create a space for heritage education to experience and nurture cultural love in the younger generation.

The Mid -Autumn Festival of Hanoi Old Quarter in 2025 is not only a bustling festival, but also a testament to the effort to persevere in preserving, spreading and developing culture in the community. In that space, every citizen, every tourist finds joy, cohesion and belief in the persistent vitality of Vietnamese heritage.
